With the update to version 11.1 released on June 2, 2022, the entire WaveLab family – WaveLab Pro, WaveLab Elements and WaveLab LE – became compatible with Steinberg Licensing.
WaveLab 11.1 thus supports both licensing techniques: the previous eLicenser system and Steinberg Licensing, introduced in January 2022.
What does this mean for existing licenses?
If you have already stored a WaveLab 11 license on a USB-eLicenser or in a Soft-eLicenser before June 2, 2022, you now have a choice:
Continue using eLicenser
You can continue to use your eLicenser-based license as before. In this case, there is nothing else for you to consider.
However, please keep in mind that WaveLab 11 is the last WaveLab version that allows the use of an eLicenser-based license. With a future update to WaveLab 12, it will be necessary to switch to Steinberg Licensing at the latest.
Switch to Steinberg Licensing
Alternatively, you can switch from USB-eLicenser or Soft-eLicenser to Steinberg Licensing.
Detailed instructions can be found here:
"Migration Voucher" in MySteinberg for switching to Steinberg Licensing
And what about new licenses?
If you redeem a Download Access Code for WaveLab 11 after June 1, 2022, you will automatically receive a Steinberg Licensing-based license. Saving the license on a USB-eLicenser or in a Soft-eLicenser is neither possible nor necessary in this case.
