We’d like to update you on the development and certification process regarding macOS Big Sur for Steinberg products.

Not only did Apple introduce a new operating system but also a new hardware platform with the Apple silicon-based system on a chip (SoC) solution. While many of our current products are compatible with macOS Big Sur on Intel-based systems and can be used on Apple silicon-based systems using Rosetta 2, please keep in mind that other software and hardware you intend to use (e.g. plug-ins and drivers) need to be officially compatible with macOS Big Sur (and Apple silicon-based hardware) as well!

Important:

• Native Apple silicon support (as of December 2021): all upcoming major product releases will be available as native applications that do not have to rely on Rosetta 2 anymore.
• Please ensure that you always use the latest updates available!
• For details on current or successor products not listed, please check the corresponding product pages and the system requirements on supported operating systems. 
• Older products which are not listed do not support macOS Big Sur and consequently, no further updates are planned!
• For newer releases or products not listed here, please check the latest system requirements.
