Problem

On macOS, Cubase and Nuendo crash when starting playback if Blackmagic Design hardware is selected as video output device.

Background

An initial internal test shows that Desktop Video 14.3, released by Blackmagic Design on November 6,  2024, is incompatible with all versions of Cubase and Nuendo on macOS.

Solution

If you depend on Cubase and Nuendo being compatible with Blackmagic Design hardware, please use Desktop Video 14.2.1 until further notice.

We are in contact with Blackmagic Design and will let you know here as soon as a solution has been found.
