Problem

When the visible area of a Cubase or Nuendo project contains a Sampler Track, GUI flickering occurs during zooming and scrolling and other graphically demanding actions.

Only Mac laptops with Pro Motion Display running macOS Ventura version 13.3.1 and later appear to be affected.

Background

According to Apple, this is related to a bug in macOS Ventura.

Solution or workaround

The problem has been resolved in macOS Sonoma.

⚠️ But before you update your Ventura installation on a 14'' or 15'' MacBook with Apple silicon, please ensure the display's refresh rate is set to Pro Motion.

Otherwise, it could be possible that you run into serious boot issues.

If you cannot or don't want to update to macOS Sonoma, you can still switch the refresh rate of the display to 60 Hz or lower, but please note that this is associated with a certain risk.
