About Video Decoder für Avid DNxHD®
Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® is required for import and playback of Avid DNxHD® encoded videos in Nuendo 7, Cubase 9 and Dorico 2 (and newer versions).
It is available as an extension for Nuendo, Cubase and Dorico in the Steinberg Online Shop. The Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® needs to be installed and updated separately from Nuendo, Cubase and Dorico.
For licensing reasons, Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® cannot be found on a public download page.
The download location depends on the version you are using.
If you still use a Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® license on a USB-eLicenser, please download the license via your MySteinberg account.
- Log in to your MySteinberg account.
- Go to "My Products".
If you cannot find "MyProducts", use the link above or navigate to Products ▸ Show eLicenser-based Products first.
- If you have registered your Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® license, please find the installer under "Downloads" (sub-menu beneath the big red buttons).
Steinberg Download Assistant
If you are using the latest Steinberg Licensing-based Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® 3.0 license, please download the installer via the Steinberg Download Assistant.
Given you own a valid license, you will find the installer under "My product downloads".
Free update to Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® 3.0
Registered users of Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® can find a free update to version 3.0 in their MySteinberg account under "Vouchers".
Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® 3.0 brings support for Apple silicon and Steinberg Licensing, which means it does not require a USB-eLicenser anymore.
⚠️ Please note that the old license will be removed from the USB-eLicenser during the update process. After the update only the functionless entry "Deleted Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD (R) (Upgraded to Steinberg Licensing)" remains on the USB-eLicenser.
However, Video Decoder for Avid DNxHD® 3.0 can still be used with program versions whose license is still stored on a USB-eLicenser., for example Cubase 11 and Nuendo 11.
