Since December 17, 2024, Iconica Sketch is available as a stand-alone app for iPhone and iPad, bringing the full orchestral sound library to mobile devices, as an AUv3 plug-in suitable for use with any compatible DAW, including Cubasis, Logic Pro for iPad, AUM, GarageBand, and others.

The Iconica Sketch sounds are also included with Dorico for iPad, if you have an active monthly or annual subscription, or if you have the Lifetime Unlock in-app purchase.

Therefore, Dorico for iPad users don’t need to purchase Iconica Sketch for iPhone and iPad. However, Dorico for iPad users should be aware that:

• Iconica Sketch has no user interface within Dorico for iPad: when Iconica Sketch is available, Dorico automatically loads the appropriate sounds, and handles all necessary key switches and MIDI CC values to switch between the supplied playing techniques and articulations
• The Iconica Sketch sounds included with Dorico for iPad cannot be used in any other app
• The stand-alone Iconica Sketch app can be used as an AUv3 plug-in within Dorico for iPad (with active subscription or Lifetime Unlock), but Dorico for iPad cannot use the AUv3 version in the same fully automatic way that it can use the built-in Iconica Sketch sounds: Dorico for iPad can load the built-in Iconica Sketch sounds automatically, assign the appropriate expression map, which ensures that playing techniques, articulations, and dynamics are all played back as accurately as possible without any intervention from you. By contrast, if you use the AUv3 plug-in within Dorico for iPad, you will have to add a new plug-in for every instrument, manually load the right sound within the plug-in, and manually assign the right expression map in the Routing section of the Track Inspector panel.
