When working with HALion Sonic on Mac OS X you may experience the problem that your presets are not stored.

The reason for this problem is a function called "FileVault", which is part of Mac OS X. FileVault automatically encrypts the contents of your home folder. Your presets for HALion Sonic are also stored in a sub-folder in your home folder. When trying to save a preset, FileVault denies access to this folder, even though you are correctly logged into your user account.

The solution is to turn off FileVault for your user account. Please open the System Preferences on your Mac, click on "Security" and "FileVault" and choose "Turn Off FileVault...".
