Double-entries of VST Sound Instrument Set (sound content/library/expansion) presets

Problem

Sound content presets in Groove Agent 5 appear twice. 

Background

The problem occurs, if you have installed the sound content by registering '.vstsound' files via the Steinberg Library Manager that have been installed before using a now obsolete installer. As a result, two sound content presets exist on the system.

Solution

The preset duplicates can easily be removed by uninstalling the older version of the sound content presets.

Windows

Simply uninstall the sound content via Windows Setttings ▸ Apps resp. Control Panel ▸ Software.

Mac 

  • Copy this path to the clipboard:
    /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Groove Agent Common
  • Select 'Go to Folder...' from the Finder's 'Go' menu - or press cmd + Shift + G simultaneously.
  • The Go to Folder dialog box opens. Paste the copied path (or enter it) and click [Go].
  • In the newly opened Finder window, delete the folder 'GA Sub Presets'.
