Please note that starting with WaveLab Elements 9, the Lame encoder is installed with the main application and there is no need for an additional download anymore!
Windows
Go to the following web page and download the latest version:

Extract the file called "lame_enc.dll" into the WaveLab Elements 7/8 System folder, which is located after a default installation here:
32-Bit Operating System:
[System Drive]:\Program Files\Steinberg\WaveLab Elements 7\System
64-Bit Operating System:
[System Drive]:\Program Files(x86)\Steinberg\WaveLab Elements 7\System
After the next start of WaveLab Elements, the Lame Encoder is available inside the "Render" window.
Mac
Go to the following web page and download the latest version:
http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-bundle.php
The DMG image contains the file Libmp3lame.dylib. Transfer the file into the system folder of your WaveLab Elements 7/8 application.
You can access the system folder of you WaveLab Elements 7/8 application as follows:
- Right mouse click or CTRL + mouse click on the WaveLab Elements application inside your application folder
- Select "Show Package Content"
- Click "Content" and afterwards "System"
Now transfer the Libmp3lame.dylib inside the "System" folder.
After the next start of WaveLab Elements, the Lame Encoder is available inside the "Render" window.
