Problem

The following error message appears when Cubase is launched:

Background

An outdated version of HALion Sonic SE is still installed. This prevents Cubase from starting because it is no longer compatible with newer Cubase versions.

Solution

• Go to this directory:
  /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Components
• Delete the file "HALion Sonic SE.vst3"

Deleting the file "HALion Sonic SE.vst3" will not affect HALion Sonic 7 if it has already been installed.
